Branding Photography for Interior Designers: Featuring MMW Designs
Building a Strong Brand Presence
When it comes to building a strong brand presence, professional imagery is key. That’s exactly why Morgan Welch, Licensed Interior Designer and owner of MMW Designs, chose the Level Up Branding Session with Michele Kipplen Photography.
Together with Allison of Color Her Confident, providing makeup and styling, we set out to capture Morgan’s confidence, professionalism, and stunning design work in a setting that truly reflects her craft.
For her session, we highlighted one of Morgan’s beautifully designed projects—a modern living room and kitchen she brought to life. The results? A portfolio of images that not only showcase her interior design talent but also position her brand with clarity and professionalism.
Meet Morgan Welch, MMW Designs
Morgan has been practicing interior design for 26 years, and in 2021, she officially launched MMW Designs, fulfilling her long-time dream of running her own practice.
Her services cover everything from paint schemes and floor plans to whole-home design and large-scale renovations. She manages every detail—furniture, window treatments, and accessories—working hand-in-hand with builders and contractors to bring her clients’ visions to life.
Interior design has always been a natural fit for Morgan. From rearranging her bedroom as a child to creating floor plans with Barbie furniture, her love for design and architecture grew into a lifelong career.
After years in commercial design during the dot-com boom, she transitioned to residential design when she moved to Toledo in 2003. That shift allowed her to focus on the personal, emotionally driven side of design—helping clients fall in love with their homes.
Why She Loves What She Does
Morgan’s passion is evident: She thrives on solving problems and creating spaces people love. She enjoys the close relationships built with clients throughout the design process.
She finds joy in blending creativity with organization, structure, and artistry. As she puts it,
“Interior Design has allowed me to be creative and expressive, while also satisfying my need to be organized and in charge.”
Lessons in Business & Growth
Like many entrepreneurs, Morgan has learned valuable lessons along the way:
Be unapologetic about your value. The best advice she’s received is to be herself and stand firm in her fees and business structure.
Not every client is the right fit. Over time, she’s become more selective in the projects she takes on, learning to recognize red flags and trust her instincts.
Relationships matter. A great designer becomes almost like a friend—someone who listens, understands, and helps make life easier and more comfortable.
Her next step? Streamlining her business processes so that when the time comes to hire, she has a clear roadmap—and continuing to sharpen her social media presence so clients can easily find and connect with her work.
Why Branding Photography Matters
For Morgan, branding photography was more than just new headshots—it was about showing her clients who she is and what she does best.
“Interior Design is a visual industry,” she shared. “Professional photography is important to create the brand and that balanced image that is not easily attained. It sets a standard.”
Branding photography allows her to:
Showcase her projects, images, and details with clarity.
Elevate her brand with cohesive, high-quality imagery.
Communicate her professionalism and artistic vision.
Behind the Branding Session
Working with Morgan was effortless. She described her experience with our team best:
“Michelle and her team stood out because they made me feel like we had been friends forever. They were laid back while still being professional, like myself. I enjoyed our time together and look forward to another shoot!”
With Allison providing expert makeup and styling consultation, and Michele capturing Morgan’s personality and her stunning interior design work, the session perfectly represented the elegance and professionalism of MMW Designs.
